improved by laying emphasis on horticulture works encompassing:
Development and Maintenance of green lawns,
land scaping, outdoor/indoor plantation etc.
Plantation along the perimeter and the campus
to provide an effective cover in maintaining cleaner environmental
conditions. |

Waste Treatment
Environmentally conscious
technology is employed for the treatment of effluents and emissions.
Waste Treatment system conforms to State Pollution Control Board norms.
Following consents are granted to SCL |

operate under Water Act, 1974.
Consent to
operate under Air Act, 1981.
Authorization for collection and storage of Hazardous Wastes.

Waste water streams are collected
and treated in the effluent treatment plant using neutralization
with lime, clarification and pH adjustment.
Treated effluent, meeting the
strict control limits, is discharged into public sewerage. Sludge
from the ETP is dried and collected in HDPE bags and kept in the
Hazardous Waste Pit. Part of the
treated effluent is used for lawn irrigation as a measure of water
conservation.
Organic waste is collected and
kept in containers in Hazardous Waste Pit. Waste stored in the
Hazardous waste pit is disposed / dumped, through the agency
authorized by the state Pollution Control Board, at the locations
identified by the State. |

The exhaust fumes are adequately
scrubbed before discharging the emissions through air stack. Similarly, local
gas abatement systems (CDO units) for toxic gases treat the fumes prior to
discharge into the central exhaust duct for treatment in the scrubber
